Born out of the need to point out the growing economic, social and cultural importance of industrial design today, Ghost Project, with its symbolic name in 2006, expressed criticism of the lack of this discipline in our country. Initially conceived as a platform for the presentation of unrealized ideas of the latest generation of Serbian designers, Ghost Project gathered 30 young authors that first year, while a year later it showed Belgrade and the world that there are far more – over a hundred authors presented themselves to the local public and renowned guests of the Belgrade design week.

Thanks to the great interest of the authors themselves and the media, the Ghost Project, instead of a ‘one-time’ event, grew into a continuous project – a dynamic database of domestic talents. But then we went one step further. Multimedia presentations of unrealized works of young designers remain an integral part of the exhibition as inspiration, while the central setting of Ghost project will be the prototypes that the authors realized themselves, within school programs, in cooperation with clients or potential furniture manufacturers.
