The initiative “Gender-sensitive urban planning and design in Serbia” is implemented in cooperation between the Women’s Architectural Society and the United Nations Office for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women in Serbia – UN Women, under the auspices of the three-year project “Key steps towards gender equality in Serbia”, financed by the European Commission within the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance II, as support to the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the effective implementation of the EU Acquis on gender equality and the national law and strategy on gender equality.
The goal of the “Gender-sensitive urban planning and design in Serbia” initiative is to strengthen integrated and participatory approaches to sustainable gender-responsive urban development by enabling and supporting cooperation and capacity building of urban actors, innovative actions, knowledge, policy development and communication in this area.
