Inspiring Girls International Award to Maja Lalić

The headquarters of the London organization Inspiring Girls recently announced that the winner of their eponymous award in the volunteer category 2024 is Maja Lalić, an architect from Belgrade and director of the Mikser Association.

As they explained in their statement, Maja deserved this recognition as a professional who advocates and implements the principles of sustainable and environmentally conscious urban development.

Through the activities of Mikser and independent practice, Maja advocates for the greening of cities and the development and application of the principle of gender equality in urban planning.

“Her participation in the “Girls Have a say” initiative in Serbia left a noticeable impression on the young participants, inspiring them with her passion for creating colorful and sustainable communities, as well as her commitment to greening cities,” the statement said.

Although many inspiring and courageous women in the aforementioned category contribute to the humanization of society and public spaces through their actions, Maja stood out with her tireless commitment and response to all actions of the Academy of Women’s Leadership, the national coordinator for the Inspiring Girls campaign in Serbia.

This year the jury for the Inspiring Girls International Awards 2024 consisted of:

– Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, founder and chair of Inspiring Girls, attorney for international trade, and founder of Espana Major.

-Genevieve Muinzer, founder of AdAstra Films and Media, vice president of the Foundation for International Law, and trustee of Inspiring Girls.

– Monica Perez Lobo, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Toyota Motor Europe.

– Hanan Bayanoni, student, young Inspiring Girls ambassador.

“This award is also a confirmation of the good work of the entire team of the Academy of Women’s Leadership in running the Inspiring Girls campaign in Serbia. It will give us an incentive to continue our work

on inspiring girls and boys throughout Serbia and their constant empowerment,” said the Academy team.
